India’s Kharif sowing reached 932.93 lakh ha, up nearly 5% YoY, with paddy seeing the biggest acreage growth.

  • Paddy area surged 16.69% YoY to 319.40 lakh ha, driving overall sowing progress across major agricultural states.
  • Pulses and oilseeds acreage dipped slightly, while maize jumped 11.74% and coarse cereals rose 4.74% YoY.
  • Sugarcane area increased 2.94%, but cotton acreage declined 2.36% compared to last year’s sowing levels.
