India’s Forex Reserves Decline

India’s forex reserves fell USD 4.4 billion to USD 690.720 billion, mainly from foreign currency assets.

  • Foreign currency assets dropped USD 3.652 billion, standing at USD 582.251 billion, as RBI data highlighted declines.
  • Gold reserves decreased by USD 665 million, now valued at USD 85.003 billion, showing further weakness in holdings.
  • RBI data confirmed an overall dip in reserves during the week ending August 22, driven mainly by an asset slump.
