  Published 5 months ago

India’s industrial production grew 4% in September 2025, slightly easing from August’s 4.1%, driven by manufacturing and infrastructure growth.

  • Manufacturing rose 4.8%, led by basic metals (12.3%), electrical equipment (28.7%), and motor vehicles (14.6%), while mining slowed to 0.4%.
  • Use-based growth showed strong expansion in infrastructure goods (10.5%) and consumer durables (10.2%), but non-durables declined 2.9%.
  • Monthly performance weakened due to mining contraction from 6.6% in August to -0.4% in September, offsetting sectoral momentum.
