India’s tea output dropped 9% YoY in June to 133.5 million kg, mainly due to heat and weak rainfall.

  • Assam’s tea production fell 9.7% to 68.55 million kg amid 42% monsoon rainfall deficit.
  • CTC tea exports were led by Egypt and UK; orthodox tea shipped to Iraq, Iran and Russia.
