LIC Q1 Profit Rises; VNB Jumps 21%

LIC posted a 4% YoY rise in Q1 FY26 consolidated profit to ₹10,957 crore, driven by premium growth and higher VNB.

  • Net premium income rose 4.7% YoY to ₹1.19 lakh crore, supported by strong non-par APE and group business growth.
  • Value of new business surged 20.75% YoY to ₹1,944 crore; VNB margin expanded by 150 bps to 15.4%.
  • LIC's AUM grew 6.47% YoY to ₹57.05 lakh crore; retained 63.51% overall market share in the life insurance business.
