SEBI Tightens SIF Investment Norms

  Published 11 months ago

SEBI mandates daily monitoring of Rs 10 lakh minimum in SIFs; units frozen on breach, auto-redeemed if not rebalanced.

  • Units frozen if investment drops below Rs 10 lakh due to investor-initiated transactions like redemption or transfer.
  • Investors get a 30-day notice to restore investments; units unfreeze if the threshold is met within the period.
  • If not rebalanced in time, AMCs must auto-redeem units at applicable NAV after the 30-day period ends.
