Sensex, Nifty Mark Six-Week Losing Streak

Indian equities fell for the sixth week, hurt by U.S. tariffs, trade worries, weak earnings, and persistent foreign selling.

  • Nifty 50 dropped 0.95% to 24,363.3; Sensex fell 0.95% to 79,857.79; both posted their longest weekly losing streak since April 2020.
  • Small-cap and mid-cap indexes slipped 1.4% and 1.1%, with 13 of 16 major sectors closing the week in the red.
  • Adani Enterprises slumped 7.4%, textile exporters fell sharply, while Hero MotoCorp surged 6.7% on strong earnings and exports.
