Summer Crop Coverage Surges in 2024

India's summer crop coverage has significantly increased this year, reaching 83.94 lakh hectares as of August 27, 2024, a 12.30% rise year-over-year. Paddy, pulses, and coarse cereals saw substantial gains, while oilseeds experienced minimal growth.

  • Paddy coverage jumped 15.45% to 35.86 lakh hectares.
  • Pulses area increased by 13% to 24.25 lakh hectares.
  • Overall coverage is up 12.30% from the previous year.
